The beautiful Southern New South Wales country encompasses lush rural farmland, the dramatic peaks of the Snowy Mountains and an unspoilt coastline of bays, coves and sandy beaches.

Follow the iconic Murray River as it carries paddle-steamers and houseboats along the border between Victoria and New South Wales, past regal 'drowned' river gums. Visit the twin sister city of Albury-Wodonga and discover a lively culture of arts, history and recreational activities.

Nearby Corowa has one of Australia's finest collections of federation buildings, and is recognised as the birthplace of the nation. Retrace the footsteps of legendary bushrangers such as 'Mad Dog' Morgan in Culcairn and fish the crystal waters at Lake Mulwala or the magnificent Lake Hume.

Visit the Snowy Mountains region for a skiing holiday or explore the alpine peaks during the warmer months, to see the unique snow gums and wildflowers, breathtaking scenery and to breathe the crisp mountain air. Explore ancient limestone caves at Yarrangobilly, and take a dip in the rejuvenating heated thermal pool.

Adventurers will delight in the thrill of mountain bike riding along the 'Cannonball Run' at Thredbo, hiking to the peak of Kosciuszko, and white water rafting on the upper reaches of the Murray.

Heading south from Sydney, follow the spectacular serpentine road along Sea Cliff Bridge, flanked by the Tasman Sea and the thick forest of Sydney's Royal National Park. Discover unspoilt coves and bays of natural beauty, sheltering small villages known for their gourmet specialities and welcoming hospitality.

Explore wildlife havens at Jervis Bay, Batemans Bay and Montague Island, where you might spot marine mammals such as playful dolphins, Australian fur seals and migrating whales.
