Brisbane has carved a name for itself in the culinary world for its fresh, adventurous and imaginative cuisine. With its own particular character - a fusion of modern technique and classic style - the cuisine is heavily dependent on the subtropical region's unique local produce. A must taste for any visitor to the area is the Moreton Bay Bug, an unusual looking shellfish - similar to a lobster - with a taste all of its own.

With a cosmopolitan mixture of European and Asian cultures, there's plenty of variety in Brisbane, and the atmosphere is typically al fresco and easygoing.
