Welcome to the end of the bitumen. Cape Tribulation is the last stopover where you can use a conventional car.

Situated on the northern part of the Daintree, Cape Tribulation is famous for its superb scenery, with long sandy beaches and a backdrop of the rugged forest-covered mountains. Here the tropical rainforest meets the Coral Sea in an exceptional explosion of beauty. The best places to view this wonder are Cape Kimberly and Alexandra Range outlook.

While most of this region is national park, there are some pockets of freehold land filled with accommodation, high quality restaurants and cafes in tropical gardens and beach settings between Cow Bay and Cape Tribulation. You’ll be able to taste some delicious local produce.

Appreciate the tranquility and remoteness without giving up on great activities. Trip to the Great Barrier Reef, try kayaking and horse riding on the beach, take an illuminating night walk, whiz through the rainforest canopy on a flying-fox, enjoy a river cruise or an adventurous 4WD tour.
