Welcome to Mission Beach
Welcome to a little piece of paradise. Mission Beach is made up of four smaller villages including South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach, North Mission and Bingil Bay. Combined with a small and lucky population of around 3000 people, you will be far from the crowd.
Picture the rainforest cascading onto 14 kilometres of magnificent golden sandy beach, with a view on Dunk Island all along, and imagine the cool breeze undulating through the palm trees. Mission Beach offers a cocktail of sceneries and activities ideal for those who desire a true break from everyday life.
Go for a romantic dinner in one of Mission Beach’s restaurants, nestling in a tropical paradise. Visit a banana plantation, a lime orchard, a tropical winery, or discover great fishing spots and cook your own catch on one of the public BBQs.
If you feel adventurous, go for a tandem skydive. From 14,000 feet in the air, you will have an indisputable view over the rainforest and the Coral Sea, and you will land on one of the most pristine and untouched beaches you will ever see. You can also boost your adrenaline with white water rafting on the Tully River. It is a great day out where even the rain can't spoil your fun.
Nature lovers will be excited by the numerous close-by walking tracks and National Parks. You will often see road signs urging you to take care of crossing Cassowary, so watch out for this amazing animal.
From Mission Beach it is extremely easy to take a day trip to the stunning Dunk Island, the Great Barrier Reef, Paronella Park, Josephine Falls and much more.
You won’t have time to get bored. Enjoy!
